A huge thank-you, for starters, goes out to my photographer and web developer (who did the up-date from his holiday in New Zealand for me!) for another great job helping me out with launching not one, but two new collections of ceramics!! I'd also like to thank my summer assistant Kelly who helped me get all my wholesale orders finished this summer so I could have some time this September developing ideas that were on the back-burner for way too long. Kudos to you folks!
Now for the give-a-way contest. So here's how it will work this time around. I don't believe I've ever asked you to visit my shop during a give-a-way, but this time around, I will. I have to agree that the Stripe Collection is my favorite! The first time I saw them I couldn't help but think of the frosting dripping on a bundt cake. And nothing is better than having a perfect mug for a morning cup of coffee.

I am going with the stem collection. The colors work so well together. I love flowers too much to go with the stripes but they are also lovely, especially mixed together. Really, though it is a tough choice as your older work is divine too. I would have to chose the stem bottle vase. The shape is ever so fun. And I have liked your facebook page for a while now. Just discovered your site..and well its great! I was wondering, do you use a stencil or resist wax and glaze twice? Are your pieces high fire? I'm a ceramics student in Texas and love your collection and was just curious about the lovely graphics on your thrown pieces. Anyhow, keep up the great pottery

Hi Clare,
Without completely giving my glazing secrets away...I single glaze fire to cone 6 for all my work. I've worked really hard over many years to create a method where I mask my cut-out designs onto a bisqued pot so I can glaze the backround of the pot. Then I use a wax resist around the edge of my design before glazing the parts that were masked out with other glazes. In my method the white glaze meets a red glaze, for example, but doesn't overlap much allowing for the red glaze to be truly red, and the white glaze to be white and for hopefully nice crisp lines between glazes.
There's certainly more to it but it's actually a simple concept that just took me years to fine-tune.

the stripes collection is my favourite, especially the green-stirped cups, but the tall stem vase is also really cute!
it's all so fresh and lovely! i adore the pale celery striped bottle vase, but there is something about the grey diagonal stripe mugs that is really entricing, perhaps because there is nothing like a gorgeous homemade ceramic mug for daily inspiration or special cups of tea!

Each of your collections is beautiful. A perfect balance between whimsy and order - a blend of inspired creative freedom and attractive, clean lines.
If I had to choose my favourite, I would choose the Poppy collection. The design featured in the Poppy collection is unlike any design I've ever seen on ceramics, or anywhere for that matter. It stands out and that makes it all the more memorable.
The only constructive comment that I could offer comes solely from a personal preference - to suggest an extra large, bowl-shaped mug. The kind that is perfect to fill to the brim and cozy up with in a comfy chair with a good book.
Of course, your designs would be eye-catching regardless of size.

Wonderful designs! The stripe collection is a clear favorite for me. I love the colors, the minimalism, and the over balance/harmony of the design. I especially like the way the stripes fan out on the espresso mugs and saucers. Very striking. Unfortunately, your stem collection reminds me a bit too much of Orla Kiely. But overall, it is a very nice body of work.

Stripes! Even with the nautical trend currently driving stripes to the forefront of the closet, I think they're fantastic on more than just shirts and tees, especially when they're done with such panache.
