My Trip

I'm back from my big adventure and show in Calgary and outside of leaving my camera in the washroom at the Airport yesterday... and not noticing until last night... yeah. All went well. Things are a little tainted right now considering, and the lost and found doesn't open until later, so I'm really hoping for an honest finder of my camera, who was kind enough to turn it in to the right place.
Otherwise, the show went well! Thank you to all those who came by- especially to family and friends- the warm Calgary reception was great! Speaking of which, if you are from Calgary, I did leave some work with a lovely gallery in Cochrane (just outside of Calgary) called Saffron Studios. I'm hoping to get some more work together for another little shop in the city in the near future, but I'll keep you posted when that transpires!

glorious spring!

Well as you can see, I'm pretty captivated with spring these days and am pulling out the camera at every corner. We have these great community gardens around and I've been taking the boys for walks in them to see what is all growing. I love when they yell out at me- 'hey check out the chives growing' or whatever it is! Oh to teach children that their food comes from the earth and not just a fast-food restaurant!
Thanks for checking in with me this week. We are off to the farm tomorrow to help put in posts in the fence for the arrival of some new calves. Dean's folks own a hobby farm about an hour out of the city so I'm bringing some sewing - I've got to finish my booth table cloth and curtains for Portobello West Calgary next week so it's a good chance to get out of the city for the day.

Dean is off to Calgary for the weekend (BRRRR, at -18 I didn't envy him!) and I started working on getting some promo ready for the Portobello West Calgary Market in May. I'm looking forward to my 'Calgary debut' as I'm calling it, mostly because I have a lot of friends and some family there and I always feel like my work is going to a good place when I have connections in a place. I have heaps of details to work out for this show- getting there with all my stuff is a major one, where to stay so I am close enough to the Stampede Grounds, how much work to bring and my booth set-up. Lots to get ready over the next couple of months...today is a day to sit at home with my sick boys and hold them close!
