Poppytalk International Art Market opens today!
I've got a bit of new work (and more to come this month) over at the Poppytalk Handmade Market that opens today! My new 'racing' stripe mugs and espresso cup and saucer have just been posted on Etsy over the weekend and I'm really excited to be introducing this new 'line' into my regular work. I started this series in December as a custom set (2 Mugs, 2 latte mugs & 2 Espresso cups/saucers) for my photographer from his wife. I made a couple of extra Mugs and espresso sets for Dean and have had rave reviews from men on these mugs. I know there are men out there that use my Poppy mugs, but won't necessarily admit that to all their buddies;)
After a quick peek over at the market, this is what caught my eye:

Indie Love

The Poppytalk Indie Love Market opened this morning with some really lovely hand-made items brought to you in time for a little early Holiday shopping! I know it's only mid-October and there is lots of time to shop, but if you are like me and try to avoid the Malls at all costs, online shopping is the way to go! And better early than later or your shipping costs and time-frame get tighter- that's stress I could do without!I did another attempt at a photo-shoot yesterday afternoon- it was pretty cloudy outside, and while it's certainly not anything close to my professional images, there is a bit of a 'charm' to them. Anyways, it's still clear to me the home photo-shoot is something I have to work on this coming year- I might just have to buckle down and buy some lights and a good backdrop!
On the studio front I finally came up with a good Christmas Tree Decoration for this year. I do try to come up with one every year and this year I was drawing huge blanks. I really didn't want to do a cookie cutter ornament, let's just put it that way. So some prototypes are in the works and I'll post photos when I have some samples!

Back to School

We get an extra week of summer this year, but my head is getting into 'back to school' mode! I'm organizing my office, along with buying supplies and some new cloths for the kids. I've been doing some thrifting as of late and found these cool back-to-school items to spruce up my desk. I wasn't sure what to do with the index file, but it's been the perfect spot to hold all my cords and battery chargers! And for more Back to School cool stuff, you ought to head over to the Poppytalk Handmade Market for an amazing selection! Sure beats standing in line at the big box store...

these days

I'm working hard (yes, that's me up there...) on getting to Calgary next week and in the meantime wanted to highlight a few front pages of Etsy that I had missed last week! I love how the down home amy cloth napkin was paired with my poppy bowls- how anyone at Etsy ever knew we used to be studio mates and have always thought our work could look great on a table together is beyond me. Kind of cool, actually! The last stream of etsy front page shots are all Poppytalk Handmade artists- the Mother's Day/Kids market is in it's last week and so far it's been a great success! I've been off to the post office every few days shipping off lovely gifts to mothers all over the US and Canada!

Poppytalk!

I just got word that I will be included in the up-coming Poppytalk Handmade Market for their Mother's Day and Kid-themed Market! This is a curated marketplace that has a reputation for featuring amazing designers and artisans from all over the world! It's a must-see market every month where I always find something new and great! So starting in the 3rd week in April (exact date of the opening tba) you will find my lovely poppies at Poppytalk! How appropriate!
Also, I have a new theory, once you get to the front page of etsy (the needle in a haystack gets found) it becomes like a common occurrance! The two photos were from yesterday and this morning's front page and I sure love all the cute things I was placed with!
